Barbara Nempi
I studied musical theatre in the UK, and since I came back to Greece, I am working as a musical performer, and singer in Athens.
The name of my new brand is inspired by all of You!
A lot of the times, we leave our selves and our souls behind, and we forget to show us our love and appreciation.
For that reason I named my brand Sweet U, so that we don’t forget to treat ourselves with the love and respect we deserve!
My specialties:
Walking Into my parents workshop, and seeing all this unused “treasure” of old vintage fabrics, I had the urge to utilise them and make the best out of them. I am a strong believer of recycling, and reusing of materials, so I wanted to base my brand on a more eco friendly perspective.
So that’s how I started designing, and making my unique clutch bags, and belt bags!
At the same time, I started using these vintage fabrics to make hair accessories while also making unique hats for every kind of style.
Finally,wanting to expand my creating abilities, I started making my “sweet U” jewellery collection, which can be worn
Everyday, at every time, using a variety of materials, from copper to semiprecious stones.
These “sweet” creations, would not have been realised, without the help of my brother, Nikolas Nempis. With his studies in architecture and his constructive criticism,he was able to help me design my new creations.
As we say in my family:
If it gets “approved” by Nikolas, then it should be good. We are good to go!

About The Shop
Our physical shop opened in 1950, and is considered a “jewel” for my home town.
Founded by my grand father Nikolas Nempis, and then passed on to my father, our hand made furniture and creations have furnished many houses all around Greece.
My mother then, expanded the shop’s potential by creating a gallery of handmade creations made by Greek artists.
I feel very blessed and proud that since 2020, with my own brand “Sweet U”, I was able to to get involved in our family’s business and this unique shop.
